Your safari begins with pickup from your hotel, airport or ferry terminal in Dar es Salaam. Travel by road to Nyerere National Park, enjoying the scenery along the way.

Upon arrival, check in at your lodge, enjoy lunch and have some time to relax. In the afternoon, head out for a boat safari along the Rufiji River, lasting approximately 2–3 hours.

The boat safari offers excellent opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles and a variety of waterbirds while enjoying the beautiful river scenery.

After breakfast, begin a full-day game drive through Nyerere National Park. Keep your eyes open for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hyenas and other wildlife.

The safari takes you through a variety of landscapes, including wetlands, open grasslands, woodland and riverine areas, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography.

Enjoy lunch and some relaxation before visiting a Maasai boma in the afternoon. Learn about Maasai culture, traditional lifestyles, customs and dances while interacting with members of the local community.

Experience:

After an early breakfast, set out for a guided walking safari accompanied by an armed park ranger. Spend approximately two hours exploring the African bush on foot.

Walking allows you to experience the park from a different perspective. Your guide will help you identify animal tracks, footprints, plants, insects and smaller wildlife, while explaining the surrounding ecosystem.

After the walking safari, return to the lodge and begin your journey back to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel, airport or ferry terminal for onward travel to Zanzibar.
